Great Read! I love true crime but many books get so bogged down in detail or are just not presented in an organized/interesting way. Though I watched almost every moment of the televised trial I was still curious as to what happened behind the scenes. I liked Marcia Clark and had a lot of respect for her as a smart and dedicated attorney. I felt the press was very unfair to her, especially the way they scrutinized her personally. No one cared if the pompous F. L. Bailey was sporting a new suit or the ever sleek Johnny Cochran had a haircut and manicure before court that day but Marcia Clark couldn't change a hair without being scrutinized as to why and what had happened to bring on that change. It was ridiculous and had nothing to do with the trial. In any case I wasn't sure how interesting the book would be as it was possibly going to have a lot legal jargon that becomes boring to me fairly fast. Not so in this book. I was into it from beginning to end. I was amazed at how she was able to condense such an overwhelming amount of information into a cohesive and easy flowing read. She kept the timeline on track as well and told the main points of the story extremely well. I was never bored and I was not left with a longing for more information. In my opinion she stated the facts, good and bad ones, very honestly and even though she lost the verdict she did not lose the case. Everyone who really evaluated the evidence presented had to believe that Simpson was guilty. That was thanks to Marcia Clark and her team. And best of all, she did no whining and opining over the verdict. She picked up her life and went on to better things. She really came through then and again with this book. I highly recommend.

My husband and I are among the many who were stunned by the verdict in the O. J. Simpson trial. A year or two ago I read one of Ms. Clark's lawyer/murder mysteries and thought (forgive me, Ms. Clark), "Well, she may not have been much of a prosecutor, but she can sure write a good murder mystery." Since reading this book I have revised my opinion of her prosecutorial abilities. It does a good job of explaining all the stuff that went on that I was completely unaware of and is a really interesting book.

I delayed reading this book due to not wanting to read a book knowing the ending was such a miscarriage of justice. However I was surprised that I was hooked with Ms Clark's writing from the very beginning of this book. The pure idiocy of the jury and the grand show boating of the so called dream team who went unchecked by the judge is maddening. Barry Scheck obviously sold his soul to the devil with his desire to taint DNA results while now days touting DNA is freeing the wrongly convicted. This book was a great read from beginning to end. I don't believe I've ever given a book a 5-star rating before.

ENTHRALLING READ, COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! Marcia wrote this from her heart, probably too much heart for the Trial of the Century back then. But, she does go into a lot of detail of the daily grind from beginning to that hopeless ending that we all hated to hear come down that day. Whether you were for Simpson or against, the way she writes, the personal touches (right down to those dang skirts?), how Ito despised her and threw every boulder down her alley, she kept on, with 2 little kids and Ex to be despised almost as much as Simpson. Anyone wanting to know what went on inside her life at that time, and her personal opinions of the Lawyering that went on (or not), this is a must read! Thanks!

I was not going to read this book because I saw a fair amount of it live. I am familiar with most of the forensics so I thought I would skip this. However, I did chance to read first one, then several of. her other books. I was impressed with her style of writing. Being an author myself I know the trials of writing. So, on the strength of her other books I bought this. The word "superior" is not adequate to describe her, the trial along with its tribulations and the near total ignorance of .judge Ito.

A true and searing account from someone who played a very important and vital role, prosecuting attorney Marcia Clark. From someone who witnessed the infamous Bronco debacle, I too had a sense that Simpson was guilty. I also knew he wouldn't be prosecuted. Watching the case on tv however, I felt Marcia gave as good as she got and in reading this account, one can gauge just how stressful and daunting prosecuting this case must have been. Marcia was brilliant, raw, and a true defender of justice. This is a great read for a blow by blow, behind-the-scenes, account of the trial of the century.

For 22 years or so, I've held doubt in my mind about whether Simpson murdered Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman. No longer.Clark was caught up in something much bigger than herself and carried out her responsibility admirably. She made her case clearly. In the book she examines factors within her control and influence as well as several over which she had no such control.I found Ms Clark's memoir of the case to be compelling, riveting and with a loud ring of truth.

I know this book is GREAT. It tells the average person how our justice system works. My thoughts are if you are rich like O.J. you are able to hire the best lawyers and get away with your crime. A middle class person, average income, will be able to hire a lawyer but in the end will either be broke or in jail. The person that has to have a public defender, is usually taking a plea or is just found guilty and put in jail. There were so many names of the people that prosecuted O.J. and the defense attorney's it was hard for me to remember everyone's name but I enjoyed the book very much. I was wondering how much O.J's trial cost the tax payers??? .
