I bought the book and read about half of it before I decided I wanted to review the small-group material. The book itself spends considerable time on the intro, foundation, before it goes into the actual list of respectable sins. I wanted to see who the small-group material will treat the intro section.There are two small group materials -- this one was more costly. The reason being, the material contains the full content of the book. I can just buy this one and read the book through it. For a group that wants to read the book together, this will be a preferred choice -- as it also contains a set of questions that a group can discuss together.
Amazing eye opening book for my Women's Small Group Study!! We all loved it!! Good read!!! I highly recommend this book to all whether you are a born again Christian or straddling the fence as to where you are in your walk with the Lord. Some ladies read it through a 2nd time and made more notes! As the facilitator of the group, I strongly encouraged the ladies to share their thoughts and what they walked away with after reading a chapter/session. We ALWAYS had soul searching penetrating discussions at the beginning, during, and after EVERY session.I have nothing but rave reviews for this book. Really makes you examine your heart and come to terms with just how deceitful and wicked we are as humans. Thank you Jesus for paying for our sins.
Jerry Bridges last book was, in my opinion, his best and and is a phenomenal encore to a career built on writing material that challenges the reader to move outside their comfort zone and ask themselves tough questions. The supporting study guide and personal growth journal encourages the participant to apply and be internally and eternally changed. Well done Jerry, thank you for your life well lived and focused on growing spiritually mature believers!

Truly a study that will remove the distortion and give you a clear understanding of the reconciliation found in Christ.
Great curriculum with thought provoking questions BUT only for those series about finding out what REAL sin is in the eyes of the Lord Jesus and God the father and what REALLY grieves the Holy Spirit. Eye opening for real Christians.
This book is very typical of Jerry Bridges - he is a wonderful author, and the book is remarkable. We are studying it in our ladies Bible Study right now. How convicting it is on showing us how we fail in our walk with the Lord. Definitely thought provoking.
This book is easy reading. we are doing a bible study and everyone has enjoyed the book very much. This particular book has the lessons and the workbook combined.
A very challenging read for our small group. If your group is good at discussion and going deeper, I'd really recommend this while digging into Scriptures.
