I had the same problem of working on games development directly from my idea in my head which resulted in unfinished games after months of modeling texturing even writing scripts. As may be the ideas in this book may seem intuitive to some people it made me focused on what was I missing from the beginning of book, organize my idea and research before even begin developing and also see the world around me in new perspective.
If you are seriously considering game development start with this book. I wish I had this book when I first fell in love with level building back in the farcry series. I really enjoyed chapter 9 the most, creating a top down perspective.Now that I have a better understanding of preproduction, I feel more confident starting and finishing a level or desigb.
This is by far the best book on Environment Design I've seen. Would give ten stars if I could!! A must have!

The website where we are suppose to download the worksheet doesn't work. Overall the book is poorly edited and written. I am still hoping to get some useful information so I'm leaving my rating at 3 stars.
